American Legion Auxiliary
Our unit began in 1928, years after the Legion was formed in1919. We are a non profit organization created to serve our veterans. We help the local Legion Unit in whatever way we can. The Auxiliary plans the Memorial Day program and the Legion provides the speaker. There is a community pot luck dinner following the program. We distribute poppies made by veterans in VA hospitals. Flags are placed on all the graves of past auxiliary members. We have given many Junior girls the opportunity to attend Girl's State. We have paid for their registration and bus fare to Grand Forks for a week of learning about how the government works on the city, county, and state level.
